Our Story
The Long Road
Jacob got interested in coffee in elementary school, when his uncle, Nick, took him on a tour of a coffee factory associated with the large southern cafeteria where Nick worked. Later, Jacob would join his uncle's private venture into the coffee business. At a roastery in Florida, Jacob became familiar with the process of roasting, grinding and packing coffee for restaurants and coffee services. Wanting to help rebuild after Hurricane Katrina, Jacob came back to his home on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. There he married Natalie, a culinary arts major and coffee enthusiast. Together they embarked on many joint ventures, including six children, but Jacob never lost his love for coffee or desire to get back into the business. Starting with a small home roaster, he began roasting for family and friends, working to perfect his technique and make a blend of his own. The result is Buccaneer Coffee Company, and our signature Buccaneer Blend. From our family to yours, we hope you enjoy!
